If you can find me, I'm here...
It's been a couple years, but I'm still around. A lot has happened, so I will do my best to summarize:
First, I have changed my name. If you knew me as Dee, you can now know me again(!) as Emily! My pronouns are she/her or plural they, but most of the time I prefer to be referred to as a girl.
Second, you might have noticed the change in URL for this profile. This is for two reasons: one, that it matches my social media presence, and two, that it removes the assumption that everything I publish is related to Mnemonic. So for my personal work not tied to the collective (see below), you can find me at girlnewsie.itch.io from now on.
I might return to the world of memory at some point, but I have needed to leave it behind to make space between myself and the events that led to me leaving the industry's public sphere. I won't go into what those events were, if you don't already know about it there is nothing that you need to know and so you're probably better off haha - but for the moment, consider Mnemonic "complete".
I recently helped co-found an artist collective, Cybernetic Coven, which (among other things) makes games! You should definitely support our Patreon, and also follow our social media accounts on Twitter and Bluesky. We have a lot of exciting things planned, including several projects led by yours truly, and you won't want to miss any of it.
I think that's all the big stuff. I have new accounts on Twitter and Bluesky, so if you want to connect there I would love to hear from you:
- Twitter: @girl_newsie
- Bluesky: @girlnewsie.bsky.social
As for what I'm working on right now, the project I'm most excited about is a witch-themed game about truth, interpretation, and changing identity. So keep an eye out for Starlight, when it comes.
Thank you all for sticking around during my long hiatus! It's good to be back, and I'm super excited for you to see what comes next.
